Verification on HAVEN is a mark of authenticity — a signal to the community that you're a real, active member who has put in the work. And it's completely free.
A badge that means something.
When you're verified on HAVEN, a small badge appears next to your username on your profile and on every post you share. It tells the community: this is a real account, with a real food life — not a bot, not a purchased follower farm, not a fake account.
We review every verification application manually. That means the badge carries genuine weight. It can't be bought, it can't be automated, and it can be revoked if someone violates the community standards they agreed to when they applied.
Verification is available to individual users. Restaurants and businesses have a separate verification program — see Business Verification.

We keep the bar honest. It's not so high that it's unreachable, and it's not so low that the badge means nothing. You just need to be a real, active member of the community.
Account at least 14 days old
Your HAVEN account needs to have been created at least 14 days before you apply. This isn't a long wait — it's just enough time to make sure you've had a chance to settle in and that this is a real account you plan to use.
At least 3 posts shared
You need at least 3 food posts shared on your profile before you can apply. This shows that you're an active participant in the community — not just an account that signed up and never posted anything. The posts must be genuine food posts following our content guidelines.
Bio added to your profile
Your profile must have a bio — something that tells the community who you are and what your food identity looks like. It doesn't have to be a novel. A sentence or two about your food interests is enough. A profile with no bio feels incomplete; we want verified accounts to feel fully present.
At least 200 followers
This is the one that takes the most time. You need at least 200 followers on HAVEN before you can apply. This requirement ensures that verified accounts have a meaningful presence in the community and that the badge is meaningful to those who see it. Build your following organically — post consistently, engage authentically, and the followers will come.

Badge on your profile
Your chosen badge style appears prominently on your profile page, letting anyone who visits know that your account is verified by HAVEN.
Badge on every post
Every food post you share carries your verification badge. When your posts appear in search results, feeds, and restaurant pages, the badge travels with them.

Pick the badge that fits your personality — star, flame, diamond, leaf, crown, bolt, or heart. You can change your style anytime from your profile settings without losing your verification status.
Apply from inside the app.
The entire verification process happens within HAVEN. No external forms, no emails — just a few taps from your profile.
Open your profile
Tap your profile photo in the bottom navigation bar to go to your profile page.
Tap "Get Verified" or "Verify"
You'll see a "Get Verified" button on your profile if you haven't applied before, or a "Verify" prompt if you've been prompted through a notification. Tap it to begin.
Fill out the form
You'll be asked a few short questions: why you want to be verified, a brief description of your food interests, and any relevant links (optional). This helps our review team understand who you are.
Submit and wait
Submit your application. Our team reviews all applications manually, usually within a few days. You'll receive a notification in the app when a decision has been made.
Choose your badge style
If approved, you'll be prompted to choose your badge style from the 7 options. Your badge goes live immediately. Congratulations — you're verified.
Common questions.
Is verification really free?
Yes, completely. Individual verification on HAVEN has never cost anything and we have no plans to change that. There is no premium tier, no subscription, and no hidden fee. If you meet the requirements, the only thing it costs is the time it takes to build your HAVEN presence.
Can I lose my verification badge?
Yes. Verification can be revoked if you violate our Terms of Service, if your account falls below the requirements (for example, your follower count drops significantly below 200), or if we determine that your account no longer represents the spirit of what the badge is meant to signify. We'll notify you if verification is being revoked and provide a reason where possible.
What if my application is denied?
If your application is denied, you'll receive a notification in the app. We may include a brief note explaining why. You're welcome to reapply after 30 days. Common reasons for denial include accounts that don't yet meet all four requirements, or profiles that don't appear to be genuine food-focused accounts.
How is individual verification different from business verification?
Individual verification is for personal HAVEN accounts — food lovers, home cooks, food explorers. It's free and based on community activity. Business verification is a separate program for restaurants, food brands, catering companies, and food media. Business accounts get a distinct badge, a business label, priority in search results, and access to analytics tools. See our Business Verification page for more.
Can I change my badge style after I'm verified?
Yes. You can change your badge style at any time from your profile settings. Go to Profile → Settings → Verification → Change Badge Style. Changing your style does not affect your verification status in any way.
Do I need to reapply after my badge style is changed?
No. Once you're verified, your status is permanent unless revoked. Changing your badge style is just a cosmetic update — it's not a new application and requires no review.
Does verification give me any moderation powers or special status?
No. Verification on HAVEN means your account is authentic and active — it doesn't give you any moderation authority, editorial power, or special treatment in the app beyond the badge display and the visibility that comes with it. Every user is equal on HAVEN; verification is just a trust signal, not a rank.
I meet all the requirements but my application was denied. Why?
Meeting all four requirements makes you eligible to apply, but approval is not automatic — our team reviews each application. In some cases, we may determine that an account doesn't appear genuine, has engagement that seems inauthentic, or has content that doesn't align with our community standards, even if the numerical requirements are technically met.
